About us

Perch and Glass is an independent guide to backyard birding. We help people choose binoculars, feeders, feeder cameras and bird food, and we explain the birds that come to them.

What we do

We publish buying guides, how-to guides, species guides and plain-language explainers. Every buying guide leads with a verdict, names a clear pick for each kind of reader and gives one honest reason to skip it.

How we work

Our guides are research-led. We compare manufacturer specifications, read independent expert reviews, look for patterns in verified owner feedback and use ornithology sources such as the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, Audubon, the RSPB and national bird organisations. We have not yet run our own hands-on tests, and we never claim that we have. Read the details in How we research.

Who writes Perch and Glass

Articles are written and edited by the Perch and Glass editorial team. We publish in four languages, and each edition is adapted for its market: local birds, local units, local shops and local bird organisations.

How we are funded
